Happy Holidays!!!!

Hooray, Christmas finally came! I usually have a hard time sleeping excited for what I will get for Christmas, but this year, I couldn't wait to see what Kade would get for Christmas! Santa got Kade a Thomas the Tank train set with a play mat and extra track. We also got him a bunch more Thomas the Tank stuff. He'd gone over a year with only 1 train and we knew he loved it. We had been buying him train stuff for a while and holding it all until Christmas. He was so excited. He walks in the family room, stops for a second noticing the train stuff, then says "Track!". He proceeds to walk towards it and says, "Train track!". The only other words that came out of him that morning were "toot, toot" and "uh oh, crash!" as he played with his train set. Oh, yeah, and the word "no!" when we pried him away at about 11:00 to get ready to go to his grandparents. I felt bad knowing he'd have to wait until tomorrow to play with his train stuff again. But his grandparents had gotten him a big dump truck and he played with that thing the rest of the day like it was his job only taking short breaks with us to chow down on some candy or get a drink. You'd think he'd never seen a toy before! He has a TON of toys at home (2 bins full and some) so we were always reserved in buying him more throughout the year. Only now do I realize why he loved his new toys so much; The 2 bins full of toys are all for infants. He outgrew his toys quite a while ago except for the pile of hot wheels cars he has. Poor kid! Well, at least we've rectified our neglect.

The girls had fun this Christmas as well! We didn't get them many toys (they inherited the 2 toy bins), but they got a lot from their grandparents like car seats (ok,those were more for us), clothes and baby dolls. I thought they were too young for dolls, but they loved them! It was a great Christmas!

I've had quite the change in attitude about things this year. Before, I looked forward to Christmas as the day I got my yearly bonus for being good. Now that I'm older and have kids of my own, I've realized that God has blessed me tremendously the 364 days since the last Christmas with a good job, great coworkers, a lovely little home, a great wife who loves me and beautiful, healthy children. I got all my presents early this year. I'm not looking under the tree excited to open up the biggest present. Now I'm just hoping the biggest present there is from me. Christmas is now the day I get to really thank Him. The birthday of the one who gave me everything: and it's my favorite day of the year.

Christmas Delivery

So I took Kade with me to deliver treats Dayna made for my home teaching families. He likes to run down the street, stopping every once and a while to stomp in the snow or look at a house with Christmas lights. The first house we went to, they weren't home. The 2nd house, Kade gave the family the Christmas treat and said "Merry Christmas." As we were walking to the next house, Kade wanted to hold one of the treats while we walked. So I gave it to him. As he was running up the street, a woman was walking to her car. Kade ran up to the stranger and handed her the Christmas treat. She thanked him and tried to give it back, but it was so cute, I wouldn't let her. Besides, we had an extra one since the people at the first house weren't home. We went to our third house and when they opened the door, Kade handed them the Christmas treat and said "trick or treat!" As we walked down the driveway, Kade asked for more to deliver. So we went home, picked up a couple more treat bags and went to our next door neighbors. He handed them the treats, said "Merry Christmas" and "I'll see you, Buuuuyyyyyee." He asked to deliver more, but that was all we had. It was heartening to see my son excited to give to others at the Holidays. What a great kid! Now if only we can get him to eat vegetables....

Kade's Nutcracker Nightmare

So when we were taking pictures of the kids for our Christmas cards, we tried to use the nutcracker to get their attention. It worked, but we didn't get smiles out of Kade since he is scared of it. I know it's mean, but we couldn't help ourselves.



After we had some chuckles, we felt we should help him get over his nutcrackerphobia. So we turned the nutcracker into his best friend, which was pretty funny as well.

Christmas Pics

These are a few pictures we took in the kids Christmas outfits. We had fun especially with the nutcracker that Kade was afraid of. My mom has made him terrified of nutcrackers, she likes to pretend that they eat fingers, so Kade turns them around and tells them they are in timeout.
I can't believe it is almost Christmas; time flies by. What is even more amazing is the twins are almost 1. I am so blessed to have 2 healthy girls, especially given that they were 7 weeks early, and Kaylee only wighed 2 lbs. 10 oz.

These are a few pictures of the kids in their Halloween costumes. Bare with me the twins did great taking pictures, but as for Kade I just have to remember he is 2 and does it well. I could not get him to pose very well, but I did my best.

DISNEYLAND!!!

We also spent 2 days at Disneyland, Kade had so much fun!! His favorite rides this year are still Dumbo, Casey Jr. Train and Monsters Inc. He also loved the Pixar Parade. The first character in the parade was Lightning McQueen Kade's absolute favorite. After he had passed Kade kept yelling "Lightining McQueen where are you going? Come back." It was cute. I love being able to take my kids and watching thier faces. Kaylee and Kylie also seemed to enjoy themselves. Thank goodness for my mom who came with us to help, we couldn't have done it without her. Thanks mom.

CALIFORNIA!!!

So we recently took our annual California trip. We flew into San Diego (I can't belive we ever moved away from that place, I miss it so much.) We spent the day at Seaport Village, they were having an art festival, so it was extremley crowded. Everywhere we went we would get stopped from people wanting to see the twins. I felt like we should have our own booth for people to come see the babies. What a difference too the people seem to be nicer and want to talk to you. We also went to Huntington Beach, it was Kaylee and Kylie's first time at the beach. I take it back they did go to the beach back in May, but never got out of their infant seats. We had fun Kaylee enjoyed eating the sand (yuck!). We buried the girls in the sand and let them get their feet in the water. It was great weather and the water didn't seem to be that cold. When we got back and undressed the girls for their bath I think we took the beach with us their was so much sand. We had so much fun I can't wait until next year.

Picture Day

So I went to visit my sister Brooke in Idaho a few weeks ago. She had told me about one of her neighbors who takes pictures. Seeming we wanted to get all the kids pictures done in their Halloween costumes we decided this would be the perfect time. The name of the studio is "Sweet Pea Photography" she did the most amazing job. She also gives you the CD with the photos and all the rights to them. I was so excited to see how they turned out. I couldn't have been any happier once I finally got to see the outcome they are awesome. Here are just a few of them.
